As time goes by, we realise that not only us mortals but even inanimate things perish.
One such structure was the Old Dining Hall, a large hall with multiple pillars. When one corner of the Hall collapsed, the entire structure had to be brought down. The only thing we could salvage were these four stones you currently see on the small lawn near the brass bell. When we started clearing the debris we were shocked to see these four round stone slabs that were used as a support base for four large metal pillars to give structural support to the Dining Hall.
The point to admire is how the then engineers calculated and had the confidence to rest the entire structure on these stone supports. What geniuses they must have been.
