Sailing Details
Many Sailing Regattas are held at Club’s Sailing Annexe, including national events every year. These events have a close functioning relationship with the Sailing activities of the Indian Army’s EME Sailing Association.
Every year, with the advent of the monsoons in July, the gentle ripples on the Husain Sagar Lake make way for large waves and forceful winds transforming the waters into a Sailor’s paradise.
As part of the Sailing activity, classes in Sailing are also conducted for children and young adults every year under competent national-level trainers and coaches.
Sailing Timings
Boatmen are available only from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; sailing after 6:00 pm is not permitted. Kindly check with the Sailing office for more details.
The facilities at the Sailing Annexe are as follows:
- Motorboat rides
- Sailboats for the Members
- A/C Bar overlooking the lake
- A/C Dining Hall overlooking the lake
- Three A/C Banquet Halls with a total capacity for 200 people
- Lawns on the bank of the lake with a capacity for 150 people
Note:
- No Member shall take out a sailing craft except in accordance with the rules laid down by the Sailing Annexe Sub Committee
- Any member or guest of a member accompanied by a member, making use of the Club Boat for any purpose, does so at his or her own risk
- Club boatmen are responsible primarily for launching, rigging, hauling and maintenance of the Club boats as directed by the Sailing Annexe Sub Committee. However, they may be used as crew or instructors by the members when available
